About me

I am blessed to be a wife to a wonderful husband that can fix, build or put together anything. Not only is he the handiest of all men but he is the best dad a kid could ask for! Being a mom to such a sweet and silly toddler has been the biggest blessing and challenge. She teaches me patience and shows me the joy and curiosity in the little things of life. And now we have a beautiful new baby in our life, Reina. She is the perfect addition to our little family.

Beach Bum Baby

Lexi absolutely loves sand and water. This past week we went to the bay one evening and she did not want to leave. I was not 100% prepared (didn't bring her swimsuit) so she was covered head to toe in water and sand but had a great time doing it. Every time I picked her up and carried her back to the sand away from the water within about 2 seconds she was en route to the water. It was a never ending game...but she loved it.

Not my favorite moment, but soo funny!

Lexi is obsessed with Millie's water and food bowl. So far she has eaten dog food and loves to "play" in the water while soaking herself and the floor but I have to draw the line at her drinking from the bowl....But I let her do it a second time just so I could take this picture. Sorry mom!!!!

Thank goodness for Mickey ears...

Luckily Lexi is so dang cute because after a horrible night sleep the only thing that can perk me up in the morning is her smiling face. Sometimes I put her Mickey ears on in the morning just for a few extra laughs...

First 4th of July

We had such a busy holiday weekend...
Started off with an exciting trip to the Little Italy Farmers Market, Lex loved watching all the people-sampling delicious oranges and crawling around at the park.

Saturday and Sunday were filled with sun and sand at the beach. She loves the sand and ate her fair share of it over the 2 days.

And of course we finished the weekend off with a good old fashioned bbq and backyard fun.
Her and Lily spent the afternoon and evening playing in and out of the pool, luckily swimsuits and diapers were optional....
After all the sun, swimming and activities of the weekend I had high hopes for an uneventful night sleep but she apparently was still in the party mood and woke up 4 times. oh well, there's always next year.

Lexi at 10.5 months

somehow overnight lexi has transformed from a baby into a real person with a crazy fun personality. she has always been curious of the world and whats going on around her but now nothing can distract her once she finds something interesting.
things to remember at this point;
-you still are not sleeping through the night...the sad part is we are so excited that you only wake 1-3 times a night instead of the previous 3-6 x's. (one day i am told you will grow out of this)
-you still refuse a bottle (again, defied all odds of those that said its a phase), i appreciate how much you love me and want to make sure i am never away more than 5 hours.
-you love to blow zerberts (sp) on anything and nothing. arms, hands, legs and any toy that will fit in your mouth.
-you love to "pet" millie
-you make me smile with your love of clapping and waving.
-you melt my heart with your excitement at seeing me after being away for a few hours, you lunge your entire body towards me until i pick you up.
-your new discovery of millies water bowl is a constant battle to keep you dry.
-your beautiful red(sparse now but will soon become thick and unruly like mine) hair and top teeth are the most talked about features with strangers. oh how they love to say, "look at that red hair and adorable teeth"...

we are so in love with you at this stage and would love to freeze you in time but are overjoyed to watch the days, weeks and years ahead...

Here we go...

I've decided that baby books are a thing of the past and way too much work to keep current. Hopefully we can dutifully update a blog to remember the momentous and humorous parts of raising a beautiful, fun loving daughter. Being the 2nd child of 4 my baby book was sparse and pretty much non existent so I am hoping to start a life long routine so that future children will also have the memories and not have to live vicariously through an older siblings baby book or pictures :)
