About me

I am blessed to be a wife to a wonderful husband that can fix, build or put together anything. Not only is he the handiest of all men but he is the best dad a kid could ask for! Being a mom to such a sweet and silly toddler has been the biggest blessing and challenge. She teaches me patience and shows me the joy and curiosity in the little things of life. And now we have a beautiful new baby in our life, Reina. She is the perfect addition to our little family.

Sun, Swim and Play

January has been a busy month. This month my Grandfather celebrated his 96th birthday!! We went to his house and had a great time visiting him and our cousins. Daniela and Joel are so great with Lily and Lexi we love watching them play together.

"Boo!"

Birthday cake, 8 candles=96 candles.

Lexi and Viviana hanging out together. They are so cute to watch-Lexi is mesmerized by her and so helpful already trying to give her a bottle

Vivi is not quite sure about her...she has been poked in the eye a few too many times.

For Christmas Lily got Lexi swim lessons. Every Saturday morning in January we went to swim, it was so fun to watch them "learn" to swim. They had a great time doing it together.

One week after swim we went to the Children's Museum, the most fun (and most traumatic for Lexi as shown below) was the rain house. They got to run around and chase each other in a cushioned environment, Lils loves to chase Lex and sometimes (actually all the time) forgets Lex is still younger and not quite as durable so has a tendency to get a little rough.

"Roll Lex, Roll!!"

She has turned into such a goof, she loves to roll around on the floor and say "Nigh, Night". It is too cute!

Her blanket, thumb, Mickey (a present from Lily after a Disneyland trip), and water. She is as happy as can be!

This piece of Christmas tissue was the highlight of one afternoon.

"More pictures Mommy?!"

This tissue feels crinkly...

Pretty much any object is a phone to her and she loves having Millie "talk" on the phone. Hilarious!!!

"Hello, yes I am only wearing a diaper and yellow sandals..."

Exploring every inch of the backyard during Franks backyard transformation project.

That's pretty much the month of January. Looking forward to what February brings, I see quite a bit of hearts, pink and red in our future....

"Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree...."

One of our many favorite things about Lexi is her willingness to wear any outfit I put her in (the extreme opposite of her very opinionated cousin who is overly picky about her clothes and refusal to wear anything that even resembles a hat).
From day one of her life I have been adamant about her wearing hats to stay warm, sun hats to reduce sun exposure, 12 jackets when its cold, and sometimes pants with leggings over it. Yes, I know I am slightly excessive. I cant help it, I worry about her sun exposure because of her fair skin and I worry she will be too cold which may lead to her getting an unnecessary sickness. (I am proud to say in her 16.5 months of life she has only been sick 1 time!)
All of that to say that when I saw this Christmas tree costume with matching hat I couldn't resist! She wore it like a trooper despite how cumbersome it was for her to run around and she even kept on the ridiculous hat. Oh, how we have trained her so well :) Sarah and Grant are convinced we only put her in hats to rub it in that Lily absolutely refuses them.

Oh, our little tree......

Love her serious little face

We had a busy holiday season, it was fun taking Lexi to different Christmas parties and events.
Lexi and Callan had a great time at the Balboa Golf course party, neither of them were interested in seeing Santa but they both liked Santa's chair.

Party at Sarah's house included reindeer making and sugar cookie decorating, so fun to watch Lex participate in these activities

Cross eyed Lils loving her banana snowman

Fun night with Paul, Emily and Wilder. The "fun" isn't very evident by the scowls on both of their faces but I promise they played their little hearts out!

Christmas Morning!! Lex was spoiled with a new bike, a see saw, play kitchen, grocery cart, golf clubs, lots of clothes and swim lessons. She spent the morning cruising around the house on her bike looking at her new toys.

Getting her first of many golf lessons...I feel for her and the countless hours she is going to be tortured with lessons from Frank. Better her than me!

"Ut-oh!"

Before our Christmas meal we enjoyed a beautiful morning at the bay
They love running together, sometimes Lexi doesn't always want the "help" Lily tries to give her :)

Where's the sky?

Lexi started off Christmas night as a tree but then changed into a beautiful dress from Aunt Jean!

My little snuggle bug near the end of the night, busy day of playing and new toys was exhausting!

She tried on Lily's new pajamas and was too cute!!!! We love that smile!

What a great Christmas we had, she really enjoyed all the festivities and time with family and friends. We look forward to this next year and are blessed to have such a sweet little girl!

Things we love about Lexi at 16.5 months.
1.) She loves to say "hi" and "bye" to strangers about a thousand times. But she has to be the first one to say it otherwise if they say hi to her she will act shy and not reply. And once she starts saying "hi, bye" she doesn't stop!! So strangers get sucked into saying it back to her thousands of times as well, soooo funny!!!
2.) She has learned to "tickle", she takes a few fingers and basically jams them into a part of your body and squeals as she does it. We normally squeal back but it is often out of pain from her jamming her fingers into you but it is so worth it to watch the pure joy on her face.
3.) If she sees anything involving Christmas decorations she starts to say, "Ho, Ho, Ho". Enough said, pure entertainment. (I must add frank taught her that and is extremely proud)
4.) She is a dancer!!! Put some music on and she is groovin'! If there isn't music all you have to say is, Lexi-Dance or Bailar and she is off and moving!
Bottom line this little girl is a BUSY bee and has us laughing on a daily basis. Every day is something new for her to learn and mimic from us and we love it!
