About me

I am blessed to be a wife to a wonderful husband that can fix, build or put together anything. Not only is he the handiest of all men but he is the best dad a kid could ask for! Being a mom to such a sweet and silly toddler has been the biggest blessing and challenge. She teaches me patience and shows me the joy and curiosity in the little things of life. And now we have a beautiful new baby in our life, Reina. She is the perfect addition to our little family.

There are 3 themes to Lexi's life right now
1.) Back that booty up...
2.) This, This, This....
3.) Books

For some reason in the past month Lexi has been obsessed with backing up her little booty and sitting down on any surface she can. It is hilarious to watch her scooting backwards slowly until she finds the little chair or ledge to plop that tush down onto. It pretty much occurs on a daily basis in every scenario imaginable.

Sea World, again.

The Zoo

At home in her favorite new frog chair while drinking water of course (she is totally my daughter with her love of water)

This, This,This...
When Lexi was about 10 months she began pointing at everything, we took that as her asking us what something was. When she turned 1 it was accompanied with a "this?". And within the last week it has now grown to a "this, this, this?' and every time gets louder and more forceful until you answer her. It is hilarious! Here are a few scenarios that she had a lot of "this's" to say.

well, maybe not while in  the tree but so dang cute!

At Sues's house, lots of new things to learn

While riding Wilder's birthday toy

Another cute trick is asking her to raise the roof, she almost always will throw her hands in the air

Our Christmas tree decorating evening was full of questions!

Raising the roof! (and the sky)

She LOVED Alex's Chuck E Cheese party this past weekend, so much to explore and sit in. Lots of cars for her to ride in and quiz us about....

"Daddy like this?"

And finally to books. The joy of her life, Frank and I are fairly sure she loves books more than either of us. She carries them all around the house (read:they are everywhere!) and if you are sitting on the ground she will back that booty up, sit down, hand you the book and say "this."

She loves her reading chair, especially now that she can climb onto it by herself.

Oh how we love this little girl at almost 16 months old.

How can it get better than this!?!

Since Lexi has started walking her personality has really started to shine. She gets into everything and wants to be a part of everything, it is sooo much fun and super entertaining.

She decided to sit down between the doors of a store at the mall, she thought it was so much fun to look around through the glass doors.
She also has become super independent. Pretty much everyday we are shocked at the new things she learns to do on her own.
Going shopping...
Opening car doors...

She does laundry...

Her and Millie worked out a deal, she will let her pull her tail and tug her ears if she gets them into the garage so Lexi can feed her. Its pretty much the highlight of both of their days. (definitely not my favorite activity, millie does not need any additional food)

She is learning to grocery shop...

Learning to paint...

Learning to fly...no big deal.

But still loves to act goofy and adorable..she has some new tricks right now. she can show you almost any body part when asked, one of our favorites is asking her where her mouth is and she sticks out her tongue.

Right now the best way to get a good smile is asking her where her teeth are and you get an awesome silly grin.

She was too cute at the zoo poking her head through the polar bear ice play area, people passing by were really entertained by her cute little smile and tiny head popping up in the "ice".

We love this little girl...

So big so fast...
How does it get better than this...walking, talking, cuddling and lots of love shine through these adorable smiles.

A bug and a Bee (part two)

Yes, I know Lexi was a ladybug last year but while shopping for her costume this year I came across another ladybug costume and I couldn't resist. She looks absolutely adorable while wearing hats and with the striped tights it was just too cute.
Here's a little reminder of last years ladybug and bumble bee...

We attended quite a few Fall festivals this year and definitely got lots of use out of Lexi's costume.

Her and Pooh (aka Lily) had a great time at the PLNU festival, they loved standing together and watching the petting zoo animals.

She had a great time picking out her 1st pumpkin of the season, there were lots of choices so she took her time trying to pick each one up until she decided on the best one.
We went to the Halloween Spooktacular at Sea World, she had a great time exploring all the Halloween displays they had set up throughout the park.

When we set her next to the mermaid she wasn't quite sure how she felt about her, she sat still waiting for all the pictures to be taken but did not take her eyes off the mermaid. She was not going to take the chance that the mermaid was going to try to touch her and characters are not her favorite thing right now so I was just happy she was willing to sit next to her as long as they were not touching.

Our fall parties continued with a trip to a boutique store called So Childish. They had a cute little party for little kids so Lily, Lexi and Wilder had a great time. The pictures of her standing by herself still amaze me since the whole walking thing is such a new concept for us and she looks so big standing all on her own.

They are so cute together so I had a hard time narrowing down pictures because Wilder's Davy Crockett costume (homemade by Emily and won best costume) is adorable and so authentic he even went barefoot to the party :) Too bad I couldn't get any pictures where they are actually looking at the camera at the same time....

I know she isn't in "costume" but she is still in disguise and her little face looks so dang cute
Another trip to Balboa Park for their family fall day (which was pretty pathetic) but they were cute in their costumes as always...
Lily is such a good helper she knows Lexi is a new walker so she offered to hold her hand and walk around with her, such a great cousin!

And finally Halloween! Lexi unfortunately was teething pretty bad for a few days and had a fever but we still managed to go to the Trunk or Treat at the Flood. She enjoyed it and there was a lot to look at which always helps distract a slightly fussy/tired baby.

When we got home from Trunk or Treat we were overtaken by trick or treaters so our little bug and bee had a great time hanging out in the entry way waiting for trick or treaters to come to the house. Halloween is Millie's favorite night of the year, what more can she love than tons of kids coming to the door and asking to pet her. Who can resist such a cute combo of a bug and a bee, I will try to branch out next year....
